Do any of you have a subscription to Martha Stewart Living? There was a recipe in either the May, June, or July issue for a roasted tomato vinaigrette. I finally charged and reloaded my iPod, all excited to listen to music on my way to work today... but my headphones are busted. Srsly. But these are the first 25 songs I would've heard! Guess the song title and artist from the first line.

and I am a blubbering mess. This is a wonderful moment to be alive. We finally stood up and effected change, and it's going to be a long, long time before things in this country get better, but I feel--dare I say it--hope. For the first time in a long time, I feel overwhelmed, overcome with relief, joy, and hope.

I've been bitching about this since May, but I need a frigging haircut. I'm getting split ends now, which is simply unacceptable.

I made my lentil soup, which is delicious. I posted the recipe with my notes and substitutions at tamalinn_eats. Next up, spinach, olive oil, and garlic mashed potatoes. But with collards instead of spinach since I have a ton of collard greens left.

I'm looking at Hal Higdon's 10K training programs, and I have a question for my runner friends: What's a tempo run?

I've got fresh tarragon and I've got fresh basil, and while I'm likely to use my basil with relative frequency, I'm not sure how much I'm going to use my tarragon. Can I freeze it? Will it freeze well? I know fresh dill freezes well, but the leaves are so tiny. Tarragon's leaves have more surface area. Will it get weird if I try to freeze it? And would the basil freeze okay?

There were a couple of guys fixing a telephone pole and I was passing them on my walk to work. One of them started singing Give Peace a Chance, and I joined in. The guy cracked up, and then his buddy started singing, too. We ran through it a couple of times, but then I was going to be late to work, so I continued on my way.

I just ran 5K in 29:01!!! That's 1:26 off my last PR, which means that I'm extra special super awesome. :) I'm really curious to see what time I'll get on the road...
